To cap off my travels this semester, I spent 12 days in Japan, which is the country I’ve wanted to go to most for the majority of my life. I cannot begin to explain how much the trip meant to me, nor do I have the time to detail everything I did there, but here are some of the highlights.

Trip to Hualien, Taiwan
Wow. Just wow. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but not even pictures can describe just how beautiful Hualien, Taiwan and Toroko National Park are. I’ll do my best, but if you get nothing else from my post, know this: Eastern Taiwan is an underrated, must-see landscape for nature lovers and adventurers.
Overwatch in Asia
Unlike the other articles I’ve written so far, this one doesn’t involve me going anywhere outside my dorm room. But I think it’s worth writing nonetheless: playing Overwatch is quite the experience here in Asia.

Chinese New Year Parade and Lots of Exploring
Wow, things have been busy here over the past few days. Friday night, Hong Kong kicked off Chinese New Year with its annual parade, and we haven’t had classes since, so I’ve gotten to explore more of Hong Kong.

Visiting a Chinese New Year Flower Market
Today is New Year’s Eve in the Chinese lunar calendar, and festivities have been ramping up throughout Hong Kong. One tradition is that nighttime markets pop up all across the city, and I visited the largest one this week.

Lamma Island and My First Church Service
